A team is presently visiting Oregon from Guatemala as part of the Group Study Exchange program and they spoke to our club about their background and experiences.

Members include Mario, a Graphic Designer from Guatemala City; Marcela, a Fashion Designer, Marketing professional, and Rotoracter; Light, also a Graphic Designer & Visual Artist/Muralist; and Byron, a Pastor serving 15 villages in Guatemala. The team is led by Bernd Martin who was originally from Switzerland and who has lived in Guatemala for over 20 years.

Group Study Exchange (GSE) is a program that District 5110 funds each year where an exchange happens for approximately one month.

Kim Forrest from Southtowne recently went to Guatemala as part of our team traveling to their District. During the time in the country, as well as exchanging culture, Rotary traditions, team members network with others in their profession. Any Rotarian under 40 can apply to be a part of an outgoing team.
