Food Box Update
Densi was just coming back from a walk with four little ones when I delivered the food! She is so grateful for our help!
*Remember!*
We provide boxes of non-perishable foods to the food cupboards at three Head Start school locations, Downtown Languages, and Fairfield Elementary so that the educators there can provide food to families in need. Emergency food boxes go to families in crisis recommended by community partners. We now deliver over 1000 food boxes each year. We are now filling boxes once per month.
Head Start & Our Interact Students in Action!
Head Start had a gardening and safety night at Whitaker. Over 60 families attended. Rotary was a part of the project.
Our South Eugene Interact students, with the help of a rotary have created an emergency room that has donated items for families experiencing homelessness or in crisis! They gave families attending the event a tour.
Again partnering with Interact volunteers we painted clay pots and planted plants.
Helen Williams Completes Rotary Leadership Institute
Helen Williams, member of the Service Network satellite of Southtowne Rotary, attended and graduated the Rotary Leadership Institute this weekend, along with 25 other Rotarians from around the District.
Helen summarized her weekend, “What an amazing 2 days! I received my certificate of completion. So proud to be part of Rotary, this group of service minded individuals. So many amazing projects around the world. But they’re largest and and longest, most impactful is eradicating polio. Last year 12 cases were diagnosed, this year so far, no people have come down with polio this year!”
