Members of Rotary have been volunteering their time to work at the Lane County vaccination clinics at Autzen Stadium, Lane Community College, and at the Lane County Fairgrounds in Eugene, Oregon.

With the help of many Rotary volunteers, Lane County has provided vaccines to tens of thousands of people in a short period of time. The club is averaging 42 volunteer shifts per weekend. So far, Rotarians have volunteered over 380 shifts, and 3,000 hours of their time. While you can sign up for single shifts or half shifts that fit your schedule, many volunteers have been lending their time every weekend.

Increasing Rotary Visibility

In addition to helping our community, volunteering has been a great way to increase our visibility. Our community has been incredibly grateful for our work as volunteers. Many people throughout our community recognize rotary and thank us for our time. So far the club has received 2 donations from community members that were thankful for our efforts.

Service Before Self – A Longtime Rotary Motto

As of April 27th, Rotary has vetted 138 volunteers. This has allowed the opportunity to sign up to work half shifts if volunteers do not wish to work a full day. If you have not already volunteered, we encourage you to look into helping our community. Once your paperwork has been submitted and passed a background check, you will be contacted if your help is needed.

Volunteers must be able to work on their feet, as positions that can be done while seated are filled. If you speak Spanish, you can be of great service to many individuals who come through the vaccination line.

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered through this tremendous effort.
