Our Fundraising Committee is Offering an Alternative
As many of you know, fundraising for our club takes place for the most part, the year prior to the Rotary Year. While we have funds secured for this ‘25/’26 year, we are facing shortfalls for the ‘26/’27 Rotary year. This is due to our not being able to cover the shifts required for MKA/Volleyball, which raised almost $11,000 last year.
The committee met on August 28th at Grace’s home, and a number of ideas for replacing this income were floated. Additional Grant Writing can help, but we are hoping for something fun and profitable in the Spring. The event floated (suspended?) is a golf ball drop, which would be similar to the Duck Race of old, but use golf balls, possibly dropped onto a local golf course. A lot of fun, with the potential to raise a lot of money, and get some much-needed publicity for Rotary!
